Tourist arrivals in Myagdi up 41%

MYAGDI:A total of 41,190 foreign tourists visited Myagdi district in 2012/13, up by 41 percent compared to arrival figures of 2011/12. According to District Police Office, Myagdi, flow of tourists to major destinations like Ghodepani, Tatopani and Khopra, among others was very high last year. [break]



Majority of the tourists visiting the district in the last fiscal year were Chinese. The district also received sizeable number of visitors from countries like Italy, Germany, Israel, France, US, South Korea, UK and Indonesia. Amar Baniya, chairman of Dhaulagiri Tourism Council, said tourist arrivals would increase further if necessary infrastructures are built.
