Top leaders to meet Tuesday

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: UCPN-Maoist leader Narayankaji Shrestha said Monday that political parties are close to a breakthrough and an agreement is likely on Tuesday when Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala and CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal are meeting, our correspondent Kosh Raj Koirala reported.



Shrestha made the claim after the conclusion of a meeting of leaders of the three largest parties on Monday.



Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel, however, said that minor disagreements still remain on the wording of a draft resolution.



Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and Nepali Congress leaders Krishna Sitaula and Arjun Narsingh KC were among those participating in Monday’s meeting.
