POKHARA, Nov 1: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that he has been informed that the major leaders of different parties are likely to lose the elections.

He revealed that his rivals are busy hatching conspiracy to defeat him in the elections. Dahal is contesting from Siraha and Kathmandu. "It will be a great loss for the country if the major leaders from different parties lose the elections," said Dahal. [break]

Speaking to mediapersons in Pokhara on Friday, Dahal said, the parties should not engage in competition among themselves to the benefit of former royals and semi-royals.

Dahal then went to claim that his party would take initiative to bring the dissident CPN-Maoist into Constituent Assembly (CA) even by offering them the 26 CA seats which are filled through nominations.

"We can adopt maximum flexibility to bring the agitating Mohan Baidya-led Maoist on board the CA process."

Reiterating that the CA election scheduled for November 19 would not be postponed, Dahal said, "The election cannot be postponed just to bring the agitating Baidya-led Maoists into the election process. The polls will he held at any cost."

"An attempt to postpone the poll would be termed anti-people," he further said.
