Timber worth Rs 300,000 seized

BARDIBAS, June 26: Timber worth Rs 300,000, which was chopped up illegally from Sarnath forest of Mahottari district was seized by a patrolling team on Friday night.



The timber was seized while it was being carried to India putting in a cart, according to Sarnath Forest Development Project. The wood smugglers fled the site when a team led by the ranger of the project Arun Mainali reached there.



The patrolling team seized two carts, two pairs of ox, two pairs of buffalo from them. The seized woods have been kept in the project for necessary legal action.
