Three, including infant, killed in bus accident

MAHENDRANAGAR, April 14: Three passengers, including an eight-month-old boy died in a passenger bus accident in Dadeldhura district Wednesday night.



The bus (Bhe 1 Kha 567) traveling from Sanfebagar of Acham to Nepalgunj with an accident at Raduba section of the Dr K I Singh Highway killing eight-month-old Khagendra Bohara, 56-year-old Devadevi Saud of Acham, and one unidentified male, according to Acham District Police Office. [break]



The accident happened at Raduwa River. Forty-six passengers were injured. Three of them are seriously injured and are receiving treatment at Kohalpur Medical College. Sixteen have been referred to Dadeldhura District Hospital, while seven have been referred to Team Hospital.



Police blamed the accident on overloading and alcohol consumption by the driver. The bus plunged into the river that is 100 meters below the highway.
