Infant dies in bus accident

TULSIPUR, Jan 10: A nine-month-old baby died in a bus accident in Dang district. The minor named Nanu, the child of Asir Alam, a resident of Motihari, India, died in the bus accident near Dalai Khola of Sisahaniya in Rapti Rural Municipality-5 of the Lamahi-Bhaluwang road section at around 3:30 this morning.

TULSIPUR, Jan 10: A nine-month-old baby died in a bus accident in Dang district. The minor named Nanu, the child of Asir Alam, a resident of Motihari, India, died in the bus accident near Dalai Khola of Sisahaniya in Rapti Rural Municipality-5 of the Lamahi-Bhaluwang road section at around 3:30 this morning.


A passenger bus (Na 5 Kha 206) heading to Surkhet from Birgunj met with the accident and the infant who was critically injured died on the way to Kohalpur for treatment. Nine others were injured in the accident, according to Mukunda Rijal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, District Police Office. The injured have been identified as Ratan Shahi, 35, of Birgunj Sub-Metropolis-16, Ram Binayak Kurmi, 34, of Rautahat Purbah Rural Municipality-6, Sansat Khatun, 40, of Bihar, India, Andil Alak of the same place and Dil Bahadur Chhetri, 17, of Surkhet Chinchu Municipality-9.

Similarly, Purna Prasad Pandey, 38, of Gerua Rural Municipality-1, Bardiya, Shanta Wali, 35, of Banke Kohalpur Municipality-18, Dhan Bahadur Rawat, 45, of Humla Tatopani Rural Municipality-7 and Gorakh Rawat, 52, of the same place sustained minor injuries. All the injured have gone home after treatment at Lamahi Hospital, according to the police. There were 20 passengers in the bus. The bus fell 20 meters down the road. The driver has been taken under control by the police.
