Three go missing in Dhaulagiri Mountain

MYAGDI, May 28: Three mountaineers including a Nepali have gone missing on the Mt. Dhaulagiri at Mudi Village Development Committee, Myagdi.



Those missing are Japanese national Sijuko Kono (woman), Spanish national Juan Jose Zera, 49, and Sherpa guide Dawa Sherpa. They went missing from the fourth base camp on Monday.[break]



According to communication officer of Bochibachi Dhaulagiri Expedition, Lekhnath Neupane, the mountaineers set out for expedition via Beni and Mudi to the peak. The Ministry of Tourism has already launched a rescue operation there following reports on three mountaineers missing, Ministry´s Section Office Deependra Poudel said.



Juan was the member of the Bochibachi Dhaulagiri Expedition while Kono and Sherpa were the members of the Prestige Adventures.
