Likewise, Parshuram Kamat, 19, of Katari-7 is also bedridden due to a bullet injury. The bullet is still inside his abdomen and he is on the verge of death. The family says that his treatment requires more than a million rupees.
“They have not looked after the persons injured during the movement,” complained Parshuram´s father Shyam who was also thrashed with the butt of a gun by the police.
There are many more victims injured during the movement that catapulted the Madhesi parties to power. “I had told Upendra (Yadav) about my plight when he came for elections. He had assured to help me but has not taken any initiative till date,” said Sunil Choudel, whose one hand is still dysfunctional due to a bullet injury.
The Madhesi People´s Rights Forum (MPRF) has now split into two following unexpected success in the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections. Forty persons had lost their lives during the movement that provided base for the Madhesi parties but the parties have not paid attention to those who fought for them.
“There have been agreements with government to provide compensation to the victims and the party cannot do anything now,” said MPRF Morang secretary Mrityunjaya Jha.
