Taekwondo team off to Malaysia

KATHMANDU, Aug 19: An eight-member Nepali taekwondo team, including four players, left for Malaysia on Wednesday to take part in the Chief Minister International Taekwondo Championship slated for August 22 and 23 in Sarawak. In the men's section, Subodh Khadka will take part in the U-63 kg event while Bikash Bhandari will compete in above 63 kg. Similarly, female players Asmita Khadka and Kajal Shrestha will vie in the U-59 kg and U-46 kg events respectively. Subodh and Asmita will compete in the single and double poomsae sections as well. Kumar Lama Ghishing and Saroj Bastola are the coaches while Nanda Basyal is the manager and Norbu Lama is referee.

Subishu honors cricketers

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Subisu Cablenet Pvt Ltd on Wednesday honored 13 national cricketers as well as a coach, an umpire and a technical analyst with Subisu Internet and Clear TV.


Organizing a function in Kathmandu, Subisu informed that each of the honored sportsperson will get 1Mbps unlimited internet service along with digital cable TV for a year worth Rs 30,000.

National team skipper Paras Khadka, Vice-captain Gyanendra Malla, Sharad Vesawkar, Basant Regmi, Sompal Kami, Pradeep Airee, Shakti Gauchan, Subash Khakurel, Sagar Pun, Avinash Karna, Prithu Baskota, Karan KC and Anil Mandal were felicitated along with Nepali team coach Binod Das, international umpire Binay Kumar Jha and team analyst Raman Shiwakoti.
