PALPA, April 29: Students aligned with All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU) Sixth, student wing of Chitra Bahadur KC led Rastriya Janamorcha, torched Tribhuvan Multiple Campus chief’s chair for erasing wall painting in campus premises in Palpa on Monday afternoon.

As part of its publicity campaign for upcoming Free Student Union elections, ANNISFU had painted walls seeking votes from students. [break]

ANNFSU Sixth Central Member Resham Kandel said that they torched campus chief’s chair after the campus administration erased their wall paintings.

Vehicular movement along Palpa-Gulmi section was disrupted for around half an hour following the protest by students. They have also padlocked campus chief’s office.

However, the campus administration said that they had erased wall painting as per ‘election code of conduct’. The student unions had earlier agreed to refrain from painting walls in college premises.

The ANNFSU students had painted walls defying ‘old’ code of conduct.
