KATHMANDU, March 17: The westerly low-pressure system and local winds are partially influencing the country. Storms are likely in a few places in Koshi and Madhesh provinces, potentially disrupting daily life, health, road, and air transport. Authorities have urged the public to take precautions to curb the potential risks.
According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), partly to generally cloudy conditions is set to prevail in the hilly regions, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear.
The MFD forecasts light rainfall with thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces and in one or two places in other hilly regions. It also expects light snowfall in some areas of the high hills and mountainous regions of these two provinces, as well as in a few high-altitude locations elsewhere.
