Stones hurled at FNJ chief

LAHAN, Sept 29: Lahan police have arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in pelting stones at a vehicle Chairperson of Federation of Nepali Journalist (FNJ) Dharmendra Jha was traveling on.



Those arrested are Mohhabad Mujebul Ansari of Lahan-4 and Sonelal Mahato of Lahan-8. [break]



Police detained them in ward police office, Lahan for necessary investigation.



Papu Singh, a contractor collecting octroi, and his employees hurled stones at an Indian vehicle (PR 06 P 2613) when Chairperson Jha and his family were moving ahead to the office of FNJ in Lahan.



The unruly group also spoke indecent words to Chairperson Jha and pelted stones at his vehicle for not paying octroi the government had scrapped.



A minor damage was caused to the vehicle.
