SSB thrashes Nepali youths

DADELDHURA, Dec 5: The Seema Surakhsha Bal (SSB) of India on Sunday thrashed local youths of Jogbuda who had gone to the neighboring Indian town of Tanakpur for shopping.



Eight youths including Dal Bahadur Dhami, Laxman Dhami, Bharat Dhami, Kalu Dhami, and 11th-grader at the Siddhanath Higher Secondary School, Chandani-Padam Dhami, Unjal Dhami, Sher Bahadur Dhami and Bir Bahadur Dhami, were injured when a team led by the head of Shrikan Post of SSB mercilessly thrashed them. The injured youths are undergoing treatment at a local health post.



“They called us terrorists and also confiscated the goods we had bought from India,” injured Dal Bahadur said.



Irate locals had encircled the Border Police Post demanding that the Nepal Police take up the issue with SSB.



The locals have shut down the Tatapani small customs office and Siddhanath Secondary School in protest.
