KATHMANDU, Sept 25:The reporters who went to Dashrath stadium to report on AFC U-16 match on Wednesday were barred by security guards from entering the stadium. The guards, deputed by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) misbehaved with the reporters.

The security persons from Garud Securities misbehaved with more than half a dozen of reporters at the main entrance denying them entry. Despite reporters showing press cards issued by ANFA, they were stopped from entering and were abused.[break]

In the recently concluded SAFF Championship as well, the guards from Garud were apprehended by ANFA officials and handed over to the police for their involvement in black-marketing the tickets.

Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF), issuing a statement, has strongly condemned the act and demanded ANFA not to repeat such action. The statement issued by NSJF Secretary Mahesh Acharya says, "NSJF strongly condemns the irresponsible act of ANFA and wishes for the success of the youth team. As the host, ANFA should be responsible for all kind of ill behavior towards journalists."

Meanwhile, South Asian Sports Journalists Association, Nepal (SASJAN) has also strongly denounced the act.
