Sood inaugurates eye camp

KATHMANDU, Oct 6: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood on Wednesday inaugurated the newly set up Solukhumbu branch of Nepal-India Human Development and Friendship Association at the district headquarters, Salleri.



According to a statement issued by the Indian Embassy, Sood also inaugurated the eye camp organized by Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh at Lukla for which Indian government has been providing assistance under its India-Nepal Economic Cooperation Program.



Under the program, over 75,000 people have been cured of cataract and trachoma and optical devices/spectacles have been distributed to over 18,000 school-going children so far, said the statement.
