Small parties form alliance

KATHMANDU, Nov 25: Seven small political parties represented in the Constituent Assembly (CA) have formed an alliance with the objective of expediting the tasks of constitution writing, taking the peace process to a logical conclusion and making parliament more responsible.



Sarita Giri of Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandidevi), Rishi Kattel of CPN (United), Jagat Bahadur Bogati of CPN (ML-Socialist), MS Thapa of Rastriya Janamukti Party, Dr Keshavman Shakya of Nepaa Rastriya Party, DK Buddhist of Sanghiya Loktantrik Rastriya Munch and Haricharan Sah of Nepali Janta Dal signed the joint statement on Thursday announcing the formation of the new alliance.[break]



 "There is growing distrust and frustration among the people toward the Constituent Assembly and the political parties. It has become essential to give the ongoing deadlock an outlet," the seven parties said in the statement.
