KATHMANDU, June 22: A cabinet meeting held on Wednesday has recommended Joint Secretary at Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Hari Kumar Shrestha as Nepal´s new ambassador to Bangladesh, according to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav.

This comes nearly two weeks before Shrestha retires from civil service on July 3.

Shrestha currently heads South Asia Division at the MoFA.

If the parliament´s Public Hearing Special Committee approves his name, Shrestha will succeed current Nepali envoy to Bangladesh Pradeep Khatiwada in November.
