Riding an overnight lead of 13 strokes, Shiva Ram carded 1 over 68 to lift the fifth Surya Open tour title of the year.
"This event was very easy, I am not satisfied with the win, I like a competitive win," Shiva Ram told myrepublica.com afterwards. "It´s like eating cake from the plate."
An RNGC pro, Shiva Ram has already won the titles of the Central Open Golf, Golfers Pilots NPGA Classic, Surya Match Play and Ghanshyam Golden Jubilee Golf Championship earlier this year.
This is his fifth title among the eight Surya Tour events this year. The final event will be played at Gokarna Golf Resort from March 30 to April 2.
Shiva Ram had opened the event with 4 over 71, but bounced back to leading position on the second day with 3 under 64 and consolidated his position on third day, carding 2 under 65.
He played a cautious 1 over 68 to finish the event on par 268 on the final day today but it was more than sufficient to give him his biggest margin win to date.
Fellow RNGC golfer Ramesh Nagarkoti and Rabi Khadka jointly tied on second spot with scores of 21 over 289. Rabi, second on the final day, ended with 9 over 76 to card 289. Ramesh started the fourth day with a score of 218 and bounced back to tie on second position with 4 over 71.
Gokarna´s professional Deepak Acharya had a forgettable day on Thursday. Deepak, the first round leader, played miserable golf afterwards to end up at 28 over 296 in sixth place.
Surya Sharma ended on fourth with 293 and Deepak Thapa Magar carded 294 to end up on fifth.
With this win, Shiva Ram pursed Rs. 112,000 as prize money while Rabi and Ramesh took away 62,500 each.
