The landslide swept away the houses of Ashta Bahadur Siwa, Salman Siwa, Tej Bahadur Siwa and Kuber Singh Sanwa.
The deceased have been identified as Asta Bahadur Siwa, his wife Jas Maya, 60, son Salman Siwa, 31, daughter-in-laws Manukari Siwa, 35, and Naina Siwa and grandchildren Naniram, 14, and Khagendra, 12, Gobinda Acharya, district police chief informed.[break]
According to Acharya, the four missing family members have been identified as Asta’s youngest son Tej Bahadur Siwa, 25, and grandchildren, Kaji Siwa, 10, Ashish , 6, and Ashika Siwa,4.
The three people were injured in the landslide. Among the injured Sukmaya Sanwa is said to be in critical condition. According to Kiran Thapa, Chief District Officer (CDO), Sanwa is being rushed to district headquarters, Fungling, for the treatment.
Police along with locals are carrying out search operation to find out the missing people.
According to CDO Thapa, a team of Nepal Army and Armed Police Force has been deputed to the incident site from district headquarters.
