Sauraha hotels see impressive booking up to December

SAURAHA (Chitwan), Sept 29: Most of the hotels in Sauraha, which are busy accommodating the rising number of tourists, have reported that they have received impressive booking for this season up to December.



“We have been witnessing rising crowds of tourists, mainly Chinese, for last two months. We have already booked more than 70 percent of our rooms for up to December,” said Narayan Rijal, manager of Wild Life Camp in Sauraha.[break]



Rain Forest, another hotel in Sauraha is also seeing impressive booking from Chinese, Australian, American and Spaniards, among others for the next few months.



“As period between September and December is the peak tourist season, arrivals of guests is quite satisfactory now and booking is also satisfactory,” said Arpan Guni, manager of Rain Forest Hotel. He also said Nepali tourists were also exected to grow during the coming Dashain and Tihar festivals.



Around 80 tourist-standard hotels are operating in Sauraha, the gateway of Chitwan National Park to accommodate the tourists, who come to Chiwan to enjoy wildlife safari and observe the culture of local indigenous people such as Tharu, Bote and Musahar.



Elephant ride, jungle walk, jungle drive, canoe ride, Tharu cultural program, visit to Tharu museum and bird watching are among the major activities being offered by Saurah hotels.



Shri Ram Silwal, an employee of United Elephant Service Cooperative said hotels were offering elephant ride service to 300 tourists daily to the national park and local community forests.
