Sarita Giri accuses government of not showing any concern

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Nepal Sadbhavana Party Chairperson Sarita Giri has accused the Regmi-led government of not showing any concern over their demands.



Talking to Republica, party’s spokesperson Govinda Sah said that the government has not paid any attention even  Giri is staging hunger strike for the past nine days.



“Government has deployed security personnel around the venue and they are told to admit Giri in hospital very soon as her health condition may be deteriorated ” said Sah, maintaining that the leaders represented in the High Level Political committee (HLPC) has also not shown any concern over their their hunger strike. Sah said that they will stage rallies on Friday at different Terai districts. “Hunger strike will be continued till the demands are met,” told Sah.



He further said that Madhes based NGOs/INGOs and organizations have given solidarity to their programs. ´Meanwhile the state owned organizations are ignoring our protests programs,´ he added.



 He said that no officials from the National Human Rights Commission has visited Giri yet.



Sah further claimed they were not working for the interest of external forces.  “We don’t expect any form of solidarity from diplomatic community,” he said.



Giri is staging hunger strike since August 13 in the capital demanding a review of the number of election constituencies for the upcoming CA elections.
