Rustlie says she came to participate in the race after being motivated by her friends.
She has already run 62 marathons till now. "I have participated in marathons in the plains," said Rustlie, adding, "I want to take a shot at this one and complete it while my health still favors me."
David Vaughn, 64, is another athlete who has run 280 marathons. Vaughn has the experience of high-altitude marathon as well as marathons on flat lands. Vaughn has also competed in triathlons. Vaughn said that he had competed in the four editions of the renowned London Marathon.

Vaughn has competed in South Africa´s Comrades Marathon, which is one of the prestigious long distance races in the world covering a distance of 56 miles. Vaughn had also competed in the Medoc Marathon held in France, which he shares as the one of the interesting marathons in the world. "In Medoc Marathon, we drink wine and run. The marathon is like a party."
Vaughn said that the uniqueness of the Everest Marathon tempted him to participate in the race. "I had not experienced high-altitude marathons and the height of the race has motivated me to take part in this marathon."
The excitement for the final countdown is growing among the foreign participants as they received chest numbers on Wednesday at Dingboche. Each and every participant was cheering for his friends whose names were called up for the chest number.
Germany, Australia, the UK and the USA have a large number of participants while there are participants from other countries too.
