KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) has decided to resort to a 'strong protest’ in the Constituent Assembly in disagreement to the new constitution draft, which, the party leaders said, has failed to incorporate the sentiments of the people.

The meeting of the party’s central committee taskforce and parliamentary party held at Singh Durbar on Sunday took a decision to this effect.

The RPP-N has already submitted a note of dissent before the CA Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee against the constitution draft. It has been insisting that issues on constitutional monarchy, secularism, federalism and republic should be settled through a referendum.

The party claimed that the draft cannot bring political stability and peace. Emerging from the meeting, RPP-N Chairman Kamal Thapa shared that the party will launch a campaign to ensure its some agendas including making Nepal a Hindu state from Monday.

Party chief whip Tilanath Giri said that demarcation of the proposed provinces is not in interest of the nation and that such issues be sorted out through referendum. RSS
