BIRATNAGAR, March 19: Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal (RPP-N) chairman Kamal Thapa has pointed out the need of searching for consensus on the disputed issues from inside the constituent assembly (CA).

At a press meet in Biratnagar on Tghursday, Thapa said that the efforts made for resolving the disputed issues from outside the CA would be anti-democratic. He further said that all parties inside the CA should forge consensus by calling an all-party meeting for resolving the disputed issues by determining a new schedule and process. The RPPN Chair added that the country may slide into a political crisis due to a majority arrogance of Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) and protest of the opposition alliance.

He termed the dispute seen over five districts in the Tarai in course of state restructuring as only the high ambition of some leaders and foreign power influence, adding that the CA chair should play a vital role for making the CA as the sovereign institute and CA chair's role was found positive in constitution drafting process.

On a different note, he added that the party unification process between his party and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party is under process as they realized the need of a strong nationalistic democratic force in the country. RSS
