The RPP-N, which has been demanding reinstatement of constitutional monarchy and declaration of Nepal as a Hindu kingdom, has said it will stage demonstrations across the country on November 13. [break]
While leaders and party cadres will stage a sit-in in front of the Constituent Assembly (CA) building at New Baneshwar on November 14, lawmakers of RPP-N, which has four seats in the CA, will picket parliament rostrum at the same time.
The party cadres will also stage protests in all the 75 district headquarters, convene corner meetings and motorcycle rallies, among others, during the protests.
Meanwhile, RPP-N Chairman Kamal Thapa has demanded that the Election Commission´s decision to issue voters´ identity (ID) cards on the basis of othe identification documents other than citizenship certificates be immediately rectified.
"Producing citizenship certificates should be made mandatory for every citizen who wants to acquire voter´s ID card," Thapa said at a press meet organized by the party on Tuesday.
Thapa also claimed that the caretaker government had no authority to bring in the annual budget. " Passage of budget by the caretaker government will not only be an unconstitutional act but a mockery of democracy," Thapa said.
