Army-man Rimal completed the 21 km race in one hour nine minutes 15 seconds. [break]
APF´s Arjun Prasad Dhakal stood second as he clocked one hour nine minutes 16 seconds. Rajan Khatri, who is also from Nepal Army, took one hour 13 minutes 20 seconds to complete the half marathon and claimed third position in the competition among 21 athletes.
Rimal bagged Rs 20,000 while Dhakal and Khatri grabbed Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
In women´s 10 km race, Koju covered the distance in 38 minutes 14 seconds to win the women´s title and bagged Rs 7,000. Krishneshwari Sintekala and Bindra Shrestha secured second and third place respectively. Sintekala completed the race in 40 minutes 16 seconds while Shrestha clocked 41 minutes.
In the VIPs category, DIG Jiwan Thapa of Armed Police Force stood first while journalist Mahananda Sapkota emerged runner-up.
Suraj Chaudhary from Sidraha Secondary School won the title of boys´ category while Sumita Mudiyari from Saraswati Secondary School won the girls´ title in the races among the schoolchildren.
Veteran athletes Ram Bhakta Shrestha and Shriya Narayan Shah were felicitated during the event organized by Morang District Amateur Athletics Association.
