KATHMANDU, Aug 3: The Special Court on Monday gave clean chit to vice-chancellor, register and 24 officials of Pokhara University (PU) in a corruption case filed against them by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
The Special Court bench comprising Chairman Mohan Raman Bhattarai and members Bhupendra Prasad Rai and Narendra Kumar Sapkota gave clean chit to the PU officials.

The CIAA had filed case against vice-chancellor Professor Khagendra Bhattrai, registrar Man Bahadur KC and 24 other officials demanding strong legal action against them.
However, they have been given clean chit as the CIAA could not produce any substantial evidence against them. The CIAA had accused the university officials of embezzling Rs 22.4 million while granting affiliation to colleges. The Pokhara University had granted affiliation to nine colleges last year.
