KATHMANDU, Aug 3: Prime College and Valley Public on Monday claimed boys' and girls' basketball titles of the Second Ganesh Man Sing Memorial Cup being held in the capital. Prime edged past Golden Gate 51-38 in boys' section.
Nischal Maharjan, who won the most valuable player award, contributed 15 points for the winning side. Under the girls' section, Valley Public toiled hard to beat NASA 25-23 in the additional time following equal 21 points in the regular period.

Valley went ahead 4-2 in the additional time to lift the trophy. Earlier, Valley bounced back in the second quarter 7-1 despite going down 4-11 in the first quarter. The third and fourth quarter finished 5-6 and 5-3.
Sushma Gautam added 11 point for the winning team and was declared the most valuable player. The winner and the runner up of both sections bagged purse of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000. The most valuable players were awarded with Rs 5000 each.
The event featured 15 teams in boys and eight teams in girls section. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Local Development and Federal Affairs Prakash Man Singh distributed prizes to the winners.
