The state head had been admitted to the University of Tokyo Hospital on June 18. Sources at the embassy said President Yadav is likely to return to Nepal on Thursday evening via a Thai Airway flight. A nine-member team comprising his relatives, doctors and security guards had accompanied him to Japan.

Earlier, Yadav  had been flown to Tokyo for further diagnosis and treatment as per the recommendation of the medical board after a black spot was detected in his large intestine. Medical checkups at TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj and Grande International Hospital, Dhapasi had concluded that there were ´some serious´ problems in the intestine.
