Meanwhile, Chairman of the Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi received tika from his mother Chitra Kumari Regmi, aged 81, today.
Chairman Regmi after ritual worship and giving tika to relatives at the auspicious hour of 9:57 am at the prime minister´s official quarters at Baluwatar, went to Ranibari at Samakhusi in the capital at 11:00 am and received tika from his mother.
After returning from there, he received tika from the president and coming to Baluwatar, started to give tika to ministers, high ranking officials and security body officials, chairman Regmi´s Press Coordinator Rajendra Pandey told RSS.
Meanwhile, although UCPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal did not have tika, had a family get together and was ready for the party meeting at party office, said Dahal´s aide Shiva Khakurel.
Similarly, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala took tika from his sister Abha Sharma in his home town Nepalgunj, in Banke on the auspicious hour. He will remain there for some days and will engage in electioneering, said his aide Laxman Dhakal.
Likewise, CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal also gave tika to family and relatives. "I have no seniors in the family and took tika myself and celebrated the festival by giving tika to family and relatives," Khanal told RSS. He also said the festival was taken as election campaigning.
