The Ordinance was certified as per the Article 88 (1) of the Interim Constitution of Nepal-2007.

Earlier, Minister for Finance Barshaman Pun on Tuesday called on the President and requested him to approve the ordinance. He shared with the President the fact that there was a risk that Nepal could fall in the blacklist if the ordinance was not certified before February 18.

With the issuance of the ordinance, the risk of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) putting Nepal in the blacklist has now been averted.

The Plenary of FATC is going to be held in Paris, France from February 18 to 22.
