President’s election today

KATHMANDU, March 13: The Election Commission (EC) is conducting presidential elections today. Both the ruling left alliance and the main opposition Nepali Congress have fielded their respective candidates.

KATHMANDU, March 13: The Election Commission (EC) is conducting presidential elections today. Both the ruling left alliance and the main opposition Nepali Congress have fielded their respective candidates.

Based on the strength, incumbent president Bidya Devi Bhandari backed by the left alliance is likely to get elected as head of the state against NC’s Kumari Laxmi Rai.  


The voting will begin from 10 am till 3 pm. Vote counting is expected to begin at 4 pm today itself. Members of provincial assemblies and federal parliament will elect the new president. Polling centers for the election is fixed at federal parliament premises in Kathmandu.
