President Yadav, who is currently in Boao to attend the Boao Forum for Asia annual conference 2015, held talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi for about thirty minutes this afternoon, according to the President's Press Advisor Rajendra Dahal. Matters relating to mutual interest and concern as well as of regional and international concern were discussed during the meeting.
Lauding the continued support of China to the development endeavours of Nepal, President Yadav appreciated the role of China in the international forum. Nepal wishes to further expand the dimension of collaboration and cooperation with China, which is an observer State in SAARC, he said while assuring Nepal's support to the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and other proposals forwarded by China for regional prosperity.
The President also shared that Nepal was striving to draft a new constitution through the Constituent Assembly and thereby accelerate development works following a political stability in the country.
Chinese President Xi, on the occasion, lauded Nepal's eagerness in collaborating with China for peaceful coexistence and mutual benefit, while stressing that the two neighbours should work together on security-related issues as well.
Referring to the 60 years of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, President Xi said that series of events were being organized to mark the event while mutual cooperation shall be expanded in the field of infrastructure, hydropower, modernization of agriculture and science and technology.
The Chinese President, on the occasion, also lauded the one-China policy adopted by Nepal and expected continued cooperation in ensuring that Nepal's territory is not used for anti-China activities.
