Assistant Sub-Inspector Ram Bahadur Tamang, 40, died on the spot after a truck of registration number Na 3 Kha 5872 ran over him.
Police has detained driver Ram Thapa Magar.
Meanwhile, a man riding a motorcycle died in road accident on the East-West Highway at Chisapani, Makar-4 in Nawalparasi district on Tuesday morning, according to RSS.
The deceased is around 25 years old. His identity is not ascertained yet, police said.
