Police seize commerce minister's vehicle for violating code

KATHMANDU, April 1: Police have seized a vehicle used by Commerce and Supplies Minister Rajendra Mahato in Mahendranagar of Kanchanpur for violating election code of conduct. Nepal FM said Wednesday morning Mahato was using government vehicle -- Ga. 1 Jha  39-- when he was in the town to campaign for Sadbhawana Party candidate for Constituent Assembly by-elections in Kanchanpur-4. Mahato is party’s chair. Election Commission has banned the ministers from visiting constituencies of the country where by-elections are to take place on April 10. Use of government vehicle for campaign is another violation of the code, according to EC.
