7 injured in police, protestors clash in Chitwan
Seven persons including police were injured in the clash between protestors and the police in Chitwan today.
Protestors carrying bamboo staves were intervened by the police who responded with pelting stones at the latter, Chief of Chitwan Police SP Sahakul Bahadur Thapa informed. However, District UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Yam Bahadur Pariyar said that police intervened in their 'peaceful protests'.
Five protestors and two police constables are reported to be injured in the incident. They are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur hospital.
Police rounded up 12 protestors including Pariyar during the protests.
