Police file public offense case against five Madhesi leaders

RAUTAHAT, Sept 16: Police on Wednesday have filed a case against five central and district leaders of United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) who were arrested from Gaur of Rautahat under the Public Offense Act.

Police had arrested them on September 14 for jeopardizing law and order situation of the district being active in agitation that has hit Rautahat since couple of weeks.According to the Rautahat District Police Office, the police have extended the arrest period by a week to file public offense case against Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (Democratic) district chairperson Ajaya Gupta, Nepal Sadbhavana Party district chairperson Shesh Jamsed, Anil Singh of Terai-Madhes Janadhikar Party, central members of Federal Socialist Forum Nepal Ram Kishor Yadav and Rameswor Prasad Yadav.

Further investigation is underway after registering the case against them on charge of their involvement in disrupting law and order situation, said Spokesperson of Rautahat Police and Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Sushir Raj Shahi. RSS
