He has been accused of helping mastermind the 1993 Mumbai blasts and over 40 other deadly bomb attacks across the country. Tunda is accused of being a ´well-known´ LeT explosive expert and terrorist.

The Indian Police was searching for him for his alleged role in 1993 serial Mumbai blasts which killed at least 250 people in a single day.

Police have intensified patrolling in the area and sniffer dogs have been used for the security purpose.

However, Nepali workers returning home from different cities in India have complained that checking by the Indian police on border has caused inconvenience for them. They have accused India´s Seema Suraksha Bal (SSB) personnel of charging them INR 100 to 500 in the name of checking.
