Pokhara-Baglung Highway obstructed for third day

POKHARA, June 27: The Pokhara-Baglung Highway remains obstructed for the third consecutive day after repeated talks on Saturday failed to reach an agreement on the compensation amount for the families of two youth who were killed in a bus accident on Thursday.



Bishnu Timalsina and Sagar Sapkota, both 16, were killed when a passenger bus heading to Baglung from Narayanghat hit their motorcycle at Hemja-4 on Thursday afternoon.



The talks between the banda callers, the bus entrepreneurs and the local administration failed after the bus entrepreneurs said they could give only Rs 150,000 to each victim´s family, Deputy Superintendent of Police Tulsi Adhikari said.



The victims´ kin have demanded a compensation of Rs 3 million, whereas the bus entrepreneurs said they could give only Rs 300,000 since their bus was set on fire.
