PM Koirala extends felicitation to British PM Cameron

Kathmandu, May 10: Prime Minister Sushil Koirala on Saturday extended warmest congratulations to British Prime Minister David Cameron on his impressive victory in parliamentary election held on Thursday.

In his message delivered on behalf of the people and the Government of Nepal, PM Koirala extended best wishes for British PM Cameron's success.


Recalling the close and cordial relation between the two countries, PM Koirala further added, "Nepal and the United Kingdom are old and close friends. Our relations have been steadily growing to our mutual satisfaction over the last 200 years covering a wide range of areas for mutual benefit."

The Prime Minister said the people-to-people relations had emerged as a key component of bilateral relations existing between the two countries while adding that Nepal valued continued assistance and support from UK in its development efforts.

Furthermore, PM Koirala extended a cordial invitation to PM Cameron to pay an official visit to Nepal at latter's convenience. "This visit will be a milestone in our long-standing relationship and cooperation," PM said adding, "I look forward to working together and making Nepal-British relations to work for peace, stability, democracy, and development in Nepal, region and the beyond."

PM Koirala expressed sincere thanks and deep gratitude for UK's sympathy and solidarity for the people of Nepal as well as for generous humanitarian assistance at a time of widespread devastation inflicted by the powerful earthquake on April 25. RSS
