KATHMANDU, Sept 27: Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai met UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the latter’s residence in Nayabazaar on Tuesday morning.
Bhattarai who was recently in New York to attend the 66th session of the UN General Assembly, briefed Dahal about his trip.[break]
It has been learnt that, Dahal shared information regarding the various meetings held during Bhattarai´s absence.
PM Bhattarai also met President Dr Ram Baran Yadav at Sheetal Niwas in Maharajgunj and briefed Yadav about his visit to New York.
The duo also discussed the ongoing peace process and the constitution drafting process, among other contemporary political issues.
President Yadav urged Bhattarai to hold consultations with Nepali Congress along with the CPN-UML and form consensus to give the peace and constitution drafting processes a logical end.
PM Bhattarai in response has assured Yadav that the peace process will be expedited.
He further informed Yadav of his plans to call the special committee meeting at the earliest to speed up both the processes.
Meanwhile, Bhattarai has reached Maoist Vice-chairman Mohan Baidya´s residence in Gongabu to discuss internal conflict witnessed within the party.
