Plans for connecting China through Korala road in progress

MUSTANG, March 13: Under the national pride Beni-Jomsom-Korala road project, the government has selected nine plans for the current Fiscal Year (FY) 2024/25, with four already in progress.

The plans include landslide control, four bridges, and one blacktopping project. According to the project’s information officer, Engineer Bishnu Chapagain, four contracts have been signed and work has begun, while five other plans are still in the contracting phase.

The contracts cover bridges over Kaiku Khola in Thasang-4, Larjung Khola in Thasang-2, Panda Khola in the Jomsom-Muktinath section, and a suspension bridge at Rahughat in Myagdi.

According to the project, the construction of a 20-meter Kaiku Khola Bridge in Thasang-4 started after signing a contract worth Rs 53.90 million with BK KC, GC JV on February 25. For the 20-meter Larjung Khola Bridge, the work will be completed after signing a contract worth Rs 22.2 million with SK Dhaulagiri Construction Services on February 23.

A new contract for channelizing Panda Khola to control its flow and installing a circular water system at Panda Khola Bridge was signed with Soli Thumka Construction Services on February 23 for Rs 5.85 million.

For the suspension bridge at Rahughat, BRT Saya JV signed a contract worth Rs 33.90 million on February 25 to manage and maintain the bridge.

The project is advancing with the implementation of these plans to improve road connectivity and infrastructure in Mustang.
