Parties agree to bring budget

KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Various 27 political parties represented in the Constituent Assembly (CA) have supported the government´s plan to amend the interim constitution to bring the annual budget.



At a meeting held at the official residence of Prime Minister Madhav Nepal Wednesday morning, all parties except CPN (Unified) and Dalit Janajati Dal supported the government proposal, according to the prime minister´s press advisor Bishnu Rijal. The two parties have been demanding that the budget be tabled without amending the constitution.[break]



Prime Minister Nepal had informed parliament about the government´s preparation to bring full budget on November 19. All parties except the two had supported the prime minister´s proposal.



Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala and leaders Ram Chandra Paudel and Krishna Prasad Sitauala, UCPN (Maoist) Vice-chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha and leader Dev Gurung, among other leaders from the parties represented in the Constituent Assembly (CA) were present in the meeting.



Talking to media persons after the meeting, Maoist leader Gurung said they have agreed to allow the government to bring the annual budget without any new plan and policies.
