Santosh Khatri and Kamal Bhandari also reached the last four winning their respective men´s singles quarterfinal matches on Monday. Khatri overcame Dawa Sherpa 6-3, 6-1, while Bhandari progressed after his opponent Raju Shrestha quit the match after the first. Bhandari had won the first set 6-4.
In the veterans´ above 55-years age group, Shyam Bahadur Thapa Magar saw off Father Mathew 6-0, 6-2, Deepak Shrestha beat Birendra Shrestha 6-0, 6-1 and Gyanendraman Tamrakar defeated Ratna Bahadur Gurung 6-2, 6-3 to book quarterfinal berths.
Meanwhile, Bishnu Prasad Gaire, Kajiman Gurung, Sushilraj Pandey and Gopal Das Manandhar secured pre-quarterfinal spots in the veterans´ above-45 years age category.
