With its second victory in as many matches, Palestine leads the points table with six points and has strengthened its chances of qualification for the finals. The defeat, meanwhile, leaves NMI at the bottom of the table without any point after two matches.[break]
Three players -- Alaa AI Atiya, Abdulhamid FM Abuhabib and KH Salem -- netted two goals each as Palestine recorded one of its highest margin victories at the international level. Haytham SM Theeb and Adham AS Aburawees were also on target for Palestine.
Palestine broke the deadlock in the seventh minute through Aburawees and scored in regular intervals to take a 4-0 lead by the end of first half. Palestine was awarded two penalties but could convert only one as the second penalty taken by Mohammed MH Barkat in the 36th minute was denied by custodian Johann Thomas Noetzel.
Palestine will face Nepal while Bangladesh will play against NMI in their last matches on Wednesday.
