“Customers here are very polite, humble and fond of Pakistani commodities and we are very happy to be here,” the organizer added.

According to him, ladies´ garments, foot-wears, leather jackets and ladies´ bags are the most purchased commodities. Furniture and wooden crafts are also snowballing.

Sajzia Javed from Pehneway, a ladies´ suit stall, said that she is having much better business this year. “This is the fourth time I am partaking in the fair held Nepal and my business is growing every year. I find Nepali people love shopping. They are very friendly and loving but quite good at bargain”, she added.

Mack Sam, another trader for Super Handicrafts, said that the customers love leather items from Pakistan, and leather jackets are the best sold items among other leather products, including bags and wallets.

“Leather jacket made from the sheep´s hide has attracted most of the customers because of its soft texture. Along with products made from the sheep´s hide, camel and goat hides are doing good business”, he added.

He has been making an average sale of Rs 35,000 to 40,000 thousands a day.

Similarly, Zahid from Zahid Traders, which has a foot-wear stall, said that four to five hundred customers are visiting his stall and more than 200 of them are purchasing Pakistani sandals and shoes.

“I have been participating in this fair ever since it started. This year, I am doing the best business so far,” he added.

The week-long fair, which commenced on Wednesday, is expected to enhance the bilateral trade between Nepal and Pakistan.
