Over 75 more atop Mt Everest

KATHMANDU, May 20: After the successful ascent by 26 climbers on Tuesday, more than 75 climbers made it to the top of Mt Everest on Wednesday, said Jitendra Giri, an official at the Mountaineering Division of the Tourism Ministry.

Among them are members of the Singapore Women´s Everest Team including Lee Li Hui, Esther Tan and Jane Lee. The three reached the top with 12 others -- three US nationals, a Briton and eight Nepali high altitude climbers. They reached the top between 3:35 and 6:50 a.m.


Also scaling the peak on Wednesday was the Airborne Ranger Club team that included three Russians, two Moldavians, a Dutch and an American. Several other Nepali and foreign expeditions also made it to the summit.
