A bus (Ko 1 Kha 1963) en-route to Dharan had turned turtle this morning around 11. [break]
Bus conductor of the ill-fated bus, Kishor Darji, 25, of Mechinagar-1, Jhapa died in the mishap, police informed. He was rushed to BP Koirala Institute of Health Science where he was declared dead by the doctors, police said.
Injured Sushila Devi Mandal, 40, of Itahari and Man Maya Gurung, 61, have been said to be in a critical condition. All the injured have been undergoing treatment at the institution.
The bus driver Deepak Pandey has been absconding following the incident.
“The over speeding bus turned turtle on Seuti Bridge while the driver tried putting brakes”, Rajan Subedi, one of the injured said.
Police are further investigating the case.
