NOC investigating fuel irregularity

BIRATNAGAR, Sept 29: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has started investigation into irregularities and theft of petroleum products imported from Barauni Refinery of Bihar, India.



According to NOC, a team of technician led by NOC Eastern Regional Chief Mukunda Prasad Ghimire has reached Bihar for the investigation. The team is due to monitor transportation process of petroleum products. [break]



As part of the investigation, the team also held discussions with transport entrepreneurs, representatives of drivers and technicians of Indian Oil Corporation about irregularity.



NOC has banned ferrying petroleum products from Barauni after some petrol tankers were found ferrying 250 liters of petroleum products, less than their capacity from Barauni to Amlekhgunj.



Prior to this, a team from the NOC central office had returned after inquiring about the irregularity.
