KATHMANDU, Sept 13: Chairman of Sadbhavana Party (SP) Rajendra Mahato has said that any force can not stop the Constituent Assembly (CA) poll slated for November 19.

Speaking at a press conference at Reporter’s Club Nepal, in the capital on Friday, Mahato said, “Poll deferral could cost dearly to the Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi-led government.”

He slammed the Regmi-led government for compromising national interest not resolving the concerns of the agitating Mohan Baidya-led CPN-Maoist. “Baidya’s absence in the poll would not make any sense.” [break]

Mahato accused Baidya-led CPN-Maoist of being working against the national interest. “They [Baidya] are making the country hostage,” he said, maintaining that Baidya-led Maoist has no right to attack over the people’s aspiration, ‘who wants the constitution to be drafted by fresh CA’.

Asserting that the Madhes-based parties would revolt against the government if the slated date of CA poll is postponed, Mahato said, “We will stage strong protests if election date is postponed. We will further revive our demands if the government fails to conduct the CA poll on the slated date.”

Mahato claimed that none of the force can dissolve Regmi-led government before the CA poll.

Amidst the function, Mahato welcomed Singer Resham Chaudhary, Chairman of Tharu Utthan Manch Nepal, in his party. “I joined SP as the party is working for the cause of national integrity,” said Chaudhary. He further claimed that SP is a single party uniting Hilly community and Tarai community in to

a thread. He announced that he will contest the election from constituency number 1 of Kailali under first past the post electoral system representing SP.

The party’s General Secretary Manish Suman said that their party was fully geared up for the poll. “The attraction towards our party is increasing day-by-day,” said Suman, maintaining that leaders from various parties joined his party lately.
